Do I get monolingual dictionaries?

JMdict (Japanese→English) and KANJIDIC2 for kanji are built in. For monolingual dictionaries, import any Yomitan-format dictionary — the same files you'd load into Yomitan. They then work offline inside the reader.
Where does the pitch accent come from?

The open Kanjium dataset, drawn inline on every dictionary entry and carried onto your Anki cards.
Can I really mine anime without subtitles?

Yes. Octopus transcribes the audio locally with Whisper, so a show with no subtitle file still becomes a clickable, mineable transcript on your machine.
What about frequency lists?

Import a Yomitan frequency list and Octopus shows each word's rank and a frequency badge. None are bundled — you bring the one you trust.
Does it work with Netflix or Disney+?

Octopus works with files on your computer and with YouTube links. It doesn't bypass DRM, so for streaming services you'd use a file you own.
Is it really a one-time payment?

Yes — one license, paid once, with free updates. No subscription, no per-minute transcription fees.
Is there a mobile app?
